"Living A Full Life"

Growing up, most little girls dreamed of having a fairy tale life. Dreams of finding Prince Charming, getting married, living in a magnificent castle, having children, and living happily ever after. From a very young age, we can begin forming unrealistic expectations for our lives by what we see. Fairy tales lead you to believe that a perfect love will magically find you if you are in the right place at the right time. We don’t learn at a young age that life takes work.

The world leads us to believe the lie that if we get everything we want in life, we will be happy. Superficial things don’t have the power to bring contentment. However, true happiness comes to every part of your life when you realize there is a greater purpose within you, placed by the very One who made you! Psalms 139:13-18 (NLT) shares how intricate and extravagant God was when He formed each of us, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up, you are still with me!”

No one knows you better than the One who created you. Your Father placed every characteristic within you. He wrote your days in His Book before they even took shape. When life becomes hard and looks less like the fairy tale you dreamed of, you can find the answer in your Father. His Word is a Book of promise! Less like a fairy tale to only dream about, God’s Word is full of powerful promises! When we believe God’s Word, accept it as truth, and use it daily, its power is evident in our lives!

Ephesians 1:5 (AMPC) tells us, “For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will because it pleased Him and was His kind intent].” Verses 17-19 (MSG) says, “I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!”

Believe it or not, your life can be more fascinating and fulfilling than the average fairy tale! So, the next time you are tempted to wait for a handsome Prince riding a horse, realize that God, your Father, has already placed a purpose within you and committed to you! Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG) says, “I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.”
