Agreeing With The Call
There will always be reasons not to step forward.
Sometimes it feels like the timing is off. Other times, we convince ourselves we’re not ready, not skilled enough, or not confident enough. Excuses have a way of showing up daily, subtly whispering that we should wait just a little longer. But the truth is, the call of God on your life isn’t waiting for perfect conditions—it’s waiting for your agreement. Agreement begins with remembering who you are.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God’s masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus for the good works He planned long ago. You are intentionally designed, purposefully formed, and divinely called. Verse 13 goes even deeper—you have been brought near and united with Christ. That means your life is not separate from Him; it is intertwined with His very nature and purpose.
So why do we hesitate?
Often, it’s because we measure the call against our own strength. But the call of God was never meant to be sustained solely by human ability. Ephesians 3 declares something powerful: never doubt God’s mighty power at work in you. His strength is not distant; it lives within you. His ability is not limited, it exceeds anything you could ask, think, or imagine. He is already working from the inside out, carrying out His purpose through you in ways far beyond your highest expectations.
Every promise of God is already “yes” and “amen.” But promises require participation.
The call, the purpose, and the promise of God all require one key ingredient—agreement. Agreement is more than words; it is a posture of trust. It is choosing to align your thoughts, your beliefs, and your actions with what God has already spoken.
When you agree with God, you stop leaning on your own limitations and start leaning your entire life—your personality, your confidence, your future—on Him. You trust His wisdom. You rely on His goodness. You believe that what He placed inside of you is enough because He is enough.
That agreement does something powerful: it stirs the fire within. Scripture calls us to rekindle the gift of God and to fan into flame what He has placed within us. That means the call isn’t something distant you’re trying to reach—it’s something already alive in you that needs to be activated. Fear may try to quiet it, but God has not given you a spirit of fear. He has given you power, love, and a sound mind—steady, disciplined, and anchored. You are not lacking anything.
As a born-again believer, your spirit is united with His Spirit. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in you right now. That means everything you need to walk out your call is already present, already working, already available.
But here’s the turning point:
Power is activated through agreement.
When you say “yes” to God—when you take that first step despite the uncertainty—you make room for His power to move in your life. That step of agreement is what shifts you from hesitation to momentum, from doubt to demonstration.
And you won’t walk it out alone.
Agreeing with God’s plan means you’re not a lone ranger trying to figure everything out. The Father Himself goes before you. He leads, directs, strengthens, and fulfills every promise along the way. Your role is not to have it all figured out—your role is to trust and follow.
So, the question isn’t whether you’re ready.
The question is, will you agree?
Agree with who God says you are.
Agree with what He’s called you to do.
Agree with the power already at work within you.
Because when your “yes” meets His call, everything changes!
